What We Do
We are a leading specialist Approved Housing Body in Ireland. We are committed to providing suitable, secure, affordable and quality rented accommodation for tenants with specific needs in accordance with their choices, hopes and aspirations. We specialise in partnerships with support agencies to promote and provide independent living for people with special needs.
We provide two distinct types of social housing. Both are long-term homes, but they are accessed in different ways and are intended for different needs.
- Long-term homes for adults with disabilities who require ongoing support. Care and support provided separately by the HSE and disability services. We work in partnership with St John of God Community Services to provide these homes.
- Standard social housing homes in Tallaght. There is no care or support packages and the housing is allocated by South Dublin County Council.
Who Provides What?Â
We work in partnership with a number of other organisations to provide housing and support. Each has a different role.
- SJOG Housing Association is the landlord. We provide and manage the home, including tenancy agreements, rent, repairs and maintenance.
- SJOG Community Services (or another provider) delivers care, support and day-to-day assistance.
- The HSE funds and plans support packages through disability services.
- The Local Authority assesses housing need, allocates housing and manages grants for home adaptations.
This partnership approach ensures that housing and support are coordinated, while remaining clearly separate.
