Who Is Eligible
SJOG Housing Association do not decide who is eligible for housing. We provide and manages the homes, but do not assess applications or make allocation decisions.
Eligibility for housing with disability support
is assessed by:
- Disability services and social work teams.
- The HSE - which assesses support needs and provides funding for that support.
- The Local Authority - which assesses housing need and manages allocation.
Eligibility for social housing is assessed by:
- On the Local Authority social housing waiting list.
- Available homes are advertised through Local Authority Choice Based Lettings.
- Applicants express interest directly through Local Authority.
- Local Authority makes all allocations decisions. We are not involved in tenant selection.
The best way to think about it
Your Local Authority | Decides if you qualify for housing
HSE / Disability Services | Decides if you need support
SJOG Housing Association | Provides and manages the home
Important to know
- You cannot apply directly to SJOG Housing Association
- All applications for housing must be made through your Local Authority.
- If you require support to live independently, this will be assessed separately through disability services.
